Bank of Ireland are delighted to be hiring aCards Data Specialist to join the Business Solutions Team within our Payment and Card Services business!

You will be responsible for the delivery of timely & accurate financial and management information/analysis to support effective decision making.

What is the opportunity?

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop further knowledge of SQL programming, SAS expertise, Teradata and Visual Basic programming. You will be engaged with senior team members, drive and influence decision making across the Group. We also collaborate with other specialists in a hub and spoke network, spread capability awareness and develop new talent.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsibility for delivery of high quality card and payment data and management reporting/insights.
  • Continuous development of analysis and commercial insight to assist senior management understanding into the drivers of cost reduction and profitability in the Group.
  • Responding to issues directly impacting credit card customers. Analysing data to assess impact and rectify customer accounts directly through the TSYS Core system.
  • Assist with the delivery of Scheme, Regulatory and Business driven cards change projects.
  • Presentation of analysis to management giving powerful commercial insight to enable decision making.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from across the Bank to eliminate silos, to drive the adoption of the Enterprise Data Warehouse & Enterprise Data Lake and to share standard process.
  • Engage partners, and challenge requirements, to respond to critical business issues, and support the organisation's strategy and values.

Who are You

Essential Qualifications

  • Third Level qualification, in mathematics, statistics, finance, IT, or another field including a significant numerical element.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn further SQL programming, SAS expertise and Visual Basic programming.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Solid attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience of delivery to tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong interpretative and analytical skills, with the confidence to provide a professional, objective and independent viewpoint.
  • Deep technical skills including working with large datasets, relational databases and experience with at least one of SQL, Tableau, Python, R, SAS.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Strong analytical, mediation and problem resolution skills
  • Previous Cards experience
  • Evidence of working with 3rd parties / internal business units
  • Risk Management
  • Experience in Financial Services Data Analytics
  • Poential previous experience with Teradata and Tableau.
